Development Projects Coordinator

Occupational Summary:
 
Responsible for working collaboratively with development officers to initiate and assist with activities required to develop and implement individual cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and actions aligned with institutional priorities.
 
Work Performed:

  • Coordinate portfolio work with Executive Director, Senior Director and other Development Officers, collaborating with Administrative Assistants and others across multiple departments. 35%
  • Thoroughly review prospect files, research, and gather information about constituents, in order to develop briefing materials, talking points and other supporting information to be used by leaders, development officers and key alumni, friends and volunteers for prospect visits. Coordinate prospect research requests, enter and pull information from and help run development reports as needed. 25%
  • Provide and monitor visit follow-up and stewardship action for donors through appropriate correspondence and coordination of tailored reports and stewardship presentations. 10%
  • Draft correspondence for use by senior leaders for a variety of purposes to include, but not limited to, letters and/or emails acknowledging gifts and commitments. 10%
  • Coordinating with appropriate staff members, develop documents that seek
  • financial support to include overseeing the creation of formal proposals, letters, etc. and typically involves coordination with colleagues across the department. Assist with the planning and coordination of development travel, filing of contact reports and pulling reports, preparing briefing information for events and visits, participate in development events as assigned. 10%
  • Assist Officers and staff in developing plans for and executing stewardship activities for any prospect in the portfolio whose lifetime philanthropy is $100,000 or more. 5%
  • Coordinate with staff and others to ensure proper support from the earliest planning stages of gift solicitation to stewardship plans and events to honor gifts. 5%
  • Assist with travel arrangements and preparations, contact reports and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program.

 Experience:

Work requires ability to design, plan and coordinate fund raising activities and special events generally acquired through two years experience.
