Financial Analyst III

Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate activities to optimize the Service Based Costing and Reporting functions. This includes the advance development of a standardized process for generating internal and external allocations for the annual budgeting process, development and management of service expenses for community connect projects, and management of the related ongoing financial reporting deliverables.  This role will partner with Service Owners and operations managers to audit and evaluate consumption data models that will ultimately be used to generate the best metrics and basis to charge customers at the appropriate service levels.  This will role will also be critical in driving the organization to a service pricing model that focusing on managing costs to generate a consistent pricing structure for customers.

A successful applicant must possess the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment, possess relevant accounting and audit experience, and be very detail oriented. Prior experience with Medicine entities is a plus.

Work Performed

  • Document the Service Operations costing financial strategy, related processes, and overall assumptions
  • Coordinate with the Service Owners to review and assist with the refinement of the service models and service level metrics.
  • Lead and/or participate in Community Connect projects to develop  and manage customer service cost budgets, work with the organizational community connect team to understand circumstances and restrictions that may impact these financial estimates, and research and evaluate various complex scenarios
  • Provide required financial reports
  • Perform audit procedures to validate the reasonableness and completeness of the service consumption charges.
  • Identify any weaknesses in current service level allocation methodologies as the business models change, continuously develop and socialize new options, and assist with implementing change in these areas.
  • Develop a standardized allocation process to facilitate allocating service consumption with the appropriate customers (internal and external) based on a calculated unit cost.
  • Facilitate customer review of statistics (validation).
  • Partner with Finance analysts during budget process.
  • Partner with operations to establish a monthly reporting process to collect and report customer consumption statistics.
  • Ultimately transition ownership of statistical models to Finance analysts.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Candidates must have a minimum of six years’ experience in Finance, Financial Reporting, cost accounting, or a field directly related to the specialized area of assignment.
  • Minimum of 3 years audit experience is highly preferred.
  • IT experience
  • CPA strongly preferred, but not required

Education
Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
