Cashier - Multiple Positions

Overview:

Operating Cash Register, Customer Service, Store Recovery

Work Performed

  • Record customer purchases on a point-of-sale computer cash register; accept payment by cash, check or charge card ensuring verification of proper identification according to established procedures; place merchandise and receipt in bag for customer.
  • Relieve regular sales staff as requested; greet customers and assist them in making purchase decisions; assist in physical inventory, restocking, display and price marking of merchandise as needed.
  • Interface with customers at the service desk to handle customer complaints, returns and exchanges in accordance with established store policy.
  • Maintain assigned area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical principles to maintain proper inventory counts and to handle sales transactions, generally acquired through a partial high school education.

Experience:

Work generally requires six months of retail store experience including cash register operation experience.

OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
