Staff Specialist

Occupational Summary
 
Perform routine tasks and special projects in support of the Donor Relations and Special Events teams.
 
Work Performed

  • Weekly filing, both electronically and hard copy, for new endowment agreements.
  • Assist with mailings of acknowledgement letters, notecards, giving society donor gifts, giving society welcome letters, event follow-up mailings, and other communications as necessary.
  • Conduct mail merges in Microsoft Word to produce drafts of giving society mailings
  • Input new building naming opportunities into Legacy Tracker database
  • Track donor gratuities for input into donor database
  • Assist with proofing and checking for formatting consistency in book drafts
  • Compile written material from various sources for use in book
  • Assist with special events preparations as needed
  • Input guest data into special events tracking documents
  • Assist with assembly and distribution of meeting materials such as nametags and meeting notebooks

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training:

Work requires knowledge of basic mathematical, research and communications principles normally acquired through two years of postsecondary education.

Experience:

Work generally requires four years of clerical or research experience to acquire strong skills in administrative or project research responsibilities as well as accepted office management, communications and research practices.

A bachelor's degree in a field of study directly related to the specific position may be substituted for the education and two years of the experience requirement.
