Senior Manager


Assist Directors in directing and coordinating activities related to revenue cycle activities to facilitate compliance and timely collection of patient accounts receivable. 

Manages the compliance of Federal, State, the Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies laws related to Health Information Management and Privacy. Coordinates process and policy enhancement in order to support Federal, State, the Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency requirements. Serves as a departmental liaison with Accreditation and Compliance.


  • Directs the planning, organizing, and controlling of the administrative and operational activities of assigned units. Areas of responsibility may include: the collection, preparation and scanning of non- interfaced paper medical records in a timely manner to support patient care and coding of the medical records, the compliant release of medical information including representing the institution at court cases involving subpoena of medical records, the accurate analysis of the medical record for deficiencies and the assignment of the deficiency to the correct MD for completion according to the timelines prescribed in the medical staff bylaws, transcription, data quality and integrity of the medical records, and/or records storage and retention.
  • Rotates after hours "HIM On-Call".
  • Works with the Director of HIM to develop long and short term goals, objectives, plans, and programs and assures the implementation of these.
  • Works with the Director of HIM to create, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that support the organizational goals, business objectives and clinical documentation.
  • Manages within a matrix organization across HIM.
  • Assists the Director of HIM in planning, developing and controlling budgets including personnel, capital equipment and operations for their work unit.
  • Monitors unit's productivity and recommend improvements to related systems to enhance unit's productivity. Evaluates the impact of innovations and changes in programs, policies and procedures for their work unit(s). Recommends new and revised procedures to ensure the proper collection and maintenance of medical information to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the assigned work unit(s) including priority setting and staffing: hiring, disciplining and performance appraisals; and monitors quality and training of all assigned employees.
  • Represents the Director of HIM at all meetings. Plans and conducts meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established departmental practices.
  • Implements all new policies, changes and standards. Attends HIM weekly project meetings, training sessions, as needed.
  • Prepares all monthly, quarterly and annual statistical reports, as requested.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

​Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
  • 8 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry is required
  • Certifications in patient access or patient accounting is strongly preferred.
